I have been involved in the fight to stop puppy mills for four years now and am extremely passionate
about the issue. For my Summa Cum Laude senior project, I am organizing a community
pet fair with the primary purpose of educating Pendleton about the horrors of puppy mills. The pet fair will potentially
include booths to promote the end of puppy mills, encourage adoption, and to educate prospective pet owners on the
proper care of a new addition to the family. Pet treats will be offered
to those attending with four-legged friends and there may be booths offering grooming services and selling collars, leashes,
and bandanas.
With a bit of luck and help from businesses and individuals around the community, the
Pendleton Pet Fair will be an effective and heartfelt event to raise awareness about puppy mills, collect donations for the
nationwide struggle, and provide a fun-filled afternoon.
